In 2018, NSG Group set its plan to invest $350 million to expand its production capacity for online coated glass, transparent conductive oxide (TCO), to support the growing solar market. The investment included construction of its first new float glass plant in the United States in nearly 40 years, an investment estimated to cost between $260 and $294 million, and the upgrade and restart of a float line in Vietnam. The new 500,000 square foot facility, located near Luckey, will have a melting capacity of 600 tons per day and will produce glass products using NSG’s advanced online coating technology.
